Changes

There are several changes being made for the 2008/9 season, some at the behest of Motorsport NZ and some from feedback from you the competitors.

The 2008/9 season will be run under the same rules as last year with perhaps some changes as the interpretation of modifications detailed in Annex 2 are standardised.

Policing of Rules – Motorsport have been putting increased pressure on the series for stronger policing of the technical rules. In response, there will be more stringent auditing of cars against the description on your entry. All modifications must be specifically identified at the time of entry – if you are too vague in your descriptions, your entry will be returned to you with a ‘please try harder’.

Independence of Technical Officer – Motorsport are also looking for independence of the series Technical Officer; Jon Warring who has been performing this function for us is no longer able to perform this role and compete. Steve Rasmussen will take on the role as Technical Officer . If you have any questions regarding classification or require a classification to Annex2, please contact Steve.

Presentation of Cars – the standard of presentation of competitors’ cars needs to improve. Damage needs to be repaired between rounds – scruffy cars not up to standard will not be starting.
