New Season 2008/9
Preparation for the new season of Bridgestone Porsche racing is shaping up rather nicely. The new committee has been appointed and the first meetings held.
Its a bit of a new look to the committee this year with Fred Corner, David Mackrell and Andrew Anderson stepping down from the committee. Stepping in to Freds shoes as Series Coordinator is Steven Neville. The rest of the committee is Kevin White, Stuart Owers , Steve Rasmussen, Davie Allison and George Randle.
The draft calendar for 2008/9 has Bridgestone Porsche at all 7 rounds of the development series, kicking off with the first one at Labour Weekend in Taupo. Each round will be a 2 day event with practice and qualifying on the Saturday and 3 races on the Sunday.
There will be no south island rounds this year; there will be 2 rounds at each of Pukekohe, Taupo and Manfield, with the final round planned for Hampton Downs. We should be one of the first meetings at Hampton Downs so it should be something special to look forward to.
Calendar
Taupo 25/26 Oct
Manfield 22/23 Nov (still to be confirmed)
Pukekohe 6/7 Dec
Taupo 2/4 Jan
Pukekohe 14/15 feb
Manfield 28/29 Mar

Registrations
We are now calling for expressions of interest from those intending to compete. The classes are as for last year – A, B and C and if there is a sufficient level of commitment, A+.
The question of GT3’s has been asked and depending on numbers and a suitable class, it’s looking likely for the 2010/11 season, subject to confirmation.
Dates
Expressions of Interest by 11 July 2008. Please email to racing@porsche.org.nz
Registrations by 11 September 2008
NOTE : Registrations after 11 September or not complete by this date will incur a late payment fee of $500-.
Once we have an idea of who is intending to compete in each class, we will be looking for one driver from each class to represent their class to the committee. If you wish to volunteer / nominate yourself, please indicate this in your Expression of Interest email reply.
Entry Fees
Entry fees for the series will increase to $700- to cover the increased costs for scrutineering and auditing and to provide functions and facilities at selected rounds. First up, the first 24 entries will receive a free pit garaging at Taupo (2 entries per garage).
