Dyno Procedure

Attached are the documents associated with the mandatory pre-season dyno power checks. The maximum power output limits are generous, so should not cause any issues for current competitors. Please take a copy of these with you when you have your car dyno’d. A copy of the declaration and the dyno sheets need to be included with your entry.

Decals

There are a number of changes to the sponsor’s decals this season – including the quality of the Bridgestone decals. The windscreen banners are also different this season.

You will be receiving a full set of new decals to be used for the coming season – old style or scruffy decals must be replaced with the new ones. These must be fitted in accordance with the included diagrams/ photos. These will be sent out in due course.

Additionally, class designation will be by an A3 size black letter on white background to be affixed to the roof of all cars.

Calendar

The R7 Hampton Downs is still tentative; we are looking into an alternative date and venue should it be required.

Entry Forms

There is a change in protocol for entries into each round. Entry forms for each round are to be sent to the Porsche Championship Series Race Secretary, not the organising club as in previous years. This will greatly assist us with administration.

Entry Forms for each round will be made available shortly on the Motorsport Website.

Tyres

The recommended tyres for this season are RE55S’s for dry and Adrenalins for wets. It is intended that (only) these tyres will be made compulsory from next season.

There will be limited Bridgestone support for R1 at Taupo – Jay will be overseas. Please have your tyres sorted before the first round – don’t expect to be able to have your new tyres fitted on the day.

Code of Driving Conduct

“Motorsport New Zealand have updated and clarified their Code of Driving Conduct which we've copied below. It's well worth taking the time to read it. There is now a strong emphasis for all drivers to avoid collisions and unsportsmanlike driving out on the track. Of particular note is the intention to penalise a driver if they impede overtaking or force other drivers off the track.

We will discuss this with you and tell you how the series organisers will interpret this at the drivers briefing during the first Taupo round.

The race committee are aiming to significantly lift driving behaviour to avoid unnecessary and costly panel damage between competitors. Overtaking has been an area which has caused collisions in previous seasons, so we will clearly outline your responsibilities.”
