Dear members,

We are wanting to remind you that the annual Ellerslie Classic Car Show and Concours d’ Elegance takes place Sunday February 12th .

Last year’s event was cancelled due to Covid – even then in fact Auckland experienced the tail end of a cyclone! The show is therefore all set to take place again. Given we won the main Team Competition in the last Concours’, PCNZ won the right to be the host Club for this next event. This is no small undertaking, and we wish to thank those members who have confirmed themselves as volunteers on the day.

Our volunteers team leaders will be in touch to brief everyone involved, on what is happening on the day. Another thank you to those members who have also agreed to have their pride and joys on display on the PCNZ Club display. Again, you will be contacted with instructions.

This event is now 50 years old and is the biggest and most prestigious Classic Car Show and Concours’ held in NZ, with over 84 other marque clubs participating with displays and of course with many competing in the actual Concours’ competitions as well.

Should you also wish to get out and give your Porsche a good drive, there are a number of mixed marques runs organised for Saturday the 11thFebruary. They are not over-long and give our members the chance to mix-it-up with other classics on a drive. Please click for information on how to register (P.S. registration formally closes on 24 Jan but you can still register up to the day of the event, although pre-booked cars do get a goodie bag).

Otherwise, the message to you all is, come along and enjoy the event at the picturesque Ellerslie Racecourse grounds, drop in for a chat at our Club display, view all the other stunning classics and of course support your Club in the Team Event Concours’ competition. PCNZ hold a narrow lead in having won the Ellerslie Concours’ more times than any other Club, something to be proud of!

We have a team of two cars entered, both early 911s and the prep’ team are hard at work preparing our cars to the very best standard we can.

We look forward to seeing you there,

On behalf of the Concours’ Team, the National Committee and Club

Ash Powell

President PCNZ
